My trim quit working the other day. At first i noticed it being weak when I was trimming it down on the trailering bracket then it would only go up ultimately quitting entirely. Being optimistic I ordered a new trim switch hoping that would fix my problem but it didn't. I took the motor off and turned the pump by hand and the shaft would move so I think the motor it's self quit on me. Before I buy a new motor does anyone have any tips to try or have a old unit they would want to sell?

Don't buy the entire trim unit.... Just replace the motor only.

That's what I had planned on doing. Is it best to go through gatortail or should I find one somewhere else?

I though the gtr trim was just a Mercury Marine trim unit. If that's the case lots of options on where to get that motor.

Gtr gets that made to their specifics from Parker hannifin, I think. You can probably get the motor from on of their dealers (hydradyne or some other one), but not by saying "I need a motor for a trim unit for a gatortail". You'll have to have the specific part number you need, and I'm not sure if the number on that motor will be gtr specific or Parker.
