Morning Group,
I have a question,I have a 14x48 Jon boat with a Predator 7hp
with stage one,I have problems in the shallows (6") or less and want to
put some kind of slick bottom on it,FrogSpit,Gator Glide, Wet Lander ect.
Which is best and which will wear better? THe other thing is whats everyone's opinion
on surface drives?

Not sure how much bottom coating would help that boat. I take it your running a Longtail ? If so I will say that back in the day had a 16hp GDLT, first was on a 14x44, then a 16x44, the 16 ft. made a difference better in shallows and mud, a little better fast and load carry. Sometimes a boat length can be the answer/problem. IMO

Yep run a longtail,I'm 72 and this is my first Jon set up and trying to
figure out what's the best set up and people been saying put some kind of slick bottom on it.
See you were in the Navy,as I '62-66 on a carrier.

Some say slick helps more in veggie, sliding over logs, and launching off your trailer be careful on that one or your boat will end up on the ramp! In the mud not so much, but I do know you will end up doing splits getting boat from shore if you ain't careful-damn thing will slide out from under you(yeah it happened,busted my azz and got wet, spilled a beer too).

Navy-22yrs. 6 days, started on Destroyers, but finished on the new mine sweepers, I was a Sonar Tech/Mineman, retired out of NAVSTA Ingleside TX. They made me stay down there for 14 yrs. I was mistreated. :lol:

I have use slick paints on different boats that I have owned. The wet lander in my opinion is the most durabul though hard to apply. It has lasted three years on my boat and is still slick with no flakes or chips on the bottom. It took 4 days to applyi primer and paint with sanding cleaning steps and heating the hull to cure the pant it was a good deal of work but was well worth it. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
