Post 7000 Mud Buddy
What were the mud buddy 7000, were they just modded up 4400. If someone could explain that to me that would be great. Also what did they get for these motors and why did they stop making them?

Shaved or aftermarket pistons (I don't know if they did one, then switched to the other)
Longer Rods
Full headwork
Twin Carbs
Exhaust
Cam

All total= time bomb
They were pushing over 240 psi compression, and for anyone that spun them consistently over 5k, they just don't handle that much vibration very well. I think it became a combination of reliability, cost to make vs how many they sold, and switching gears, so to speak, towards the sport v/h and hdr development. I could be wrong about the why, but I figure that's probably what it boils down to.

Id call that a pretty good explanation. The new 44 is a stock shortblock with heads and mikuni "I think". Simple and effective. I bet they last a long time

Ours was built in 2013 with roller rockers, rods, pistons, performance heads ,cam and valves. It came with a Q pipe and a 40" prop shaft. Has 200 hrs on it now with out issues other than crank case gasket, and stud modification in block. When it was ordered with an Excel F4 1851 boat it was advertised as a Glen Foreman special from MBs Performance shop. Waited 6 months on motor to be shipped. Heard they were expensive to build and couldn't meet EPA emission testing, reason they quit building them. Although all the parts are still avalible from BPS except the 40 " prop shaft housing.

Mudbuddy use to post a list of what each engine was composed of, but over time and with as many packages they built they probably confused themselves.

Yup I am aware that its just a modded Briggs. The hoss is built off of GM's motor, which gets me excited in terms of reliability and power
