Thank you for the link We can be our own worst enemy here. There needs to be a strong response in opposition of this ban, but also we need or understand why they would consider banning surface drives. I would recommend responding with possible solutions such as decibel limits that everyone can live with and provide studies which support that these motors do not harm the WMAs when used in a responsible manner. |

It’s official. No ban. Government actually listened to constituents for once...shocking “ After reviewing public comments submitted during the last month, Commissioners decided to table the ban on surface-drive motors in hopes that manufacturers and hunters would work to reduce noise levels and refrain from aftermarket modifications that increase horsepower and noise from stock motor systems.” https://www.agfc.com/en/news/2018/05/01 ... available/ |

Are hunters restricted to a horsepower limit in AR? Or does the motor just have to remain stock? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Sure glad to hear they tabled it. If we are being picky now, I would suggest they start looking into the modding of all those old 3 hole outboards running the timber before they start tightening down on modded lawnmower engines. But I guess that's what all the good old boys run so its not an issue Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk |

All I’m saying is, the hunters and manufacturers aren’t going to do anything to stop this. I hate the noise, too. I’d gladly pay extra $$ for quiet with performance....best option out there right now is the Q.... But, I’d be willing to bet a stock 35/36/37 is louder than 89 decibels at WOT. |

Another easy way to fix the "stock only problem", if that becomes a topic for guys who like the custom exhausts (myself included), is for big brands to offer these exhausts like voodoo and stainless works as an option when you purchase your Motor for an upgraded price. This way you meet the "from the factory" standard, and you can please the people that like the custom exhausts. Now that's out the window if there is a decibel limit. But on that tolken, I don't know what standards there are or what the conditions of that crap is, because California doesn't allow for excessively loud exhausts and require stricter emitions, but you can order a GT350 with longtube headers and slp loudmouth exhaust (as a performance option) and can be heard from 3 miles away in second gear. Not sure how this stuff is regulated or enforced, but I'll be running this loud voodoo for as long as I want in south Louisiana. |
