Teeter/Totter effect, go with a longer hull.

Wanting smaller boat to get into more places duck hunting where hunt gets real narrow and shallow with bunch stumps and trees mostly just me and nothing person and gear hunting

The round chine and tapered transom are terrible options for the pd. Bryce may have run a smaller boat with a pd, but not a round chine gd boat. It will be a turd. Don't do it.

I run a 16x44 godevil with a 27 prodrive and its not a bad set up for 2 people and gear. Any more than that and its very slow especially in current. im looking to trade my 16x44 before duck season just to find a bigger boat that will meet my needs better

cb is right.

I don't run, and don't care to run round chine hulls.

What is the disadvantage of the round chine boat ? What makes it so bad

Its a combination of the round chine, the length of the boat, and the tapered transom, paired with the heavily weighted back pd. They just aren't a good match for each other. Round chines, tapered transoms, and pd's all have their place, just not together.

Why did you even make this thread? Everyone told you not too. Sounds like you just wanted validation for a decision you had already made.

Boat runs awesome not bad thing about it . Floats motor great no fear of taking on water even when let off throttle from running wide open , pretty stable even with two people up in it moving around , turns super good can make it slide ,don’t notice having a bit of trouble getting up on plane does better then my regular Jon boat ever did , I think taped transom really helps in reverse seem to go threw whatever my opinion it’s a dang good match for my 25 Prodrive I’ll be keeping this boat just time to paint it and some gator glide probly after duck season this year

True I’ve never ran on a Prodrive hull maybe tons better don’t know what more someone would expect from 25 tho just going off what I’ve ran it on previously I’m sure put more then 2 of us and gear or more then three people It would suck but then again it’s a 16 foot boat and a 25 Prodrive don’t expect to carry no big loads or nothing .

It will slip the veggies and cypress stumps way better than a jon
especially if you get the hang of "slow walkin" it and poppin that
back weighted PD up here and there...

That hull is ideal with 18 to 23 LT at slippin and slow walkin....
It will do almost as good with the heavier SD....

Happy Hunting !!!
