Bilge pump?
Ive got an 08 prodrive 1848 hull, this weekend i was out at the camp and it rained hard all three days so i was constantly pumpin water out by hand so it wouldnt sink at the pier. I had never had this problem so i never even considered an auto bilge pump. Anybody with a similar setup got any input to. How many GPH i need or suggestions of good brands?

Re: Bilge pump?
They are fairly cheap, I think I got a 2600 GPH pump, it’s auto, and I obviously ran it to a switch.
It was cheap.

Re: Bilge pump?
Take a trip to Walmart, hop on Amazon, etc and get any of the the attwood options or a rule (long considered the standard in saltwater boats). Theyre both good to go. You dont necessarily need the 2600 for an auto and leaving unattended in the rain, but why not? Lol

http://xylemappliedwater.com/rule-lopro/Best pump on the market as far as features. It does both Manuel, auto and easily interchanges between the two. Check it out, you won’t find a better pump for the price.

Re: Bilge pump?
i'm a big fan of at least a 2500gph pump. bigger the better. and automatic is a must. usually u can wire them both ways with a 3 way switch.
that lopro rule900 looks pretty cool.

Re: Bilge pump?
I will say one thing about rule pumps. I have called their customer service about a 750gph I had that the automatic switch was hanging up and they sent me a new one without issue. I even got to keep the old one and put it in another boat. i'll pay extra for good customer service.
that being said, I have run atwood pumps with no issues. lol

Re: Bilge pump?
I like the high GPM pumps. I run a 2000 GPH. Better to have and not need (pumping capability) than need and not have. It helps me sleep at night.

Re: Bilge pump?
I have a 2k myself, but it's only on a switch. I do need to add a float pump.

Re: Bilge pump?
I have a 1600 that works great for my boat and drains everything fast for my set up. Any bilge pump is better than none lol

Re: Bilge pump?
I have 2 bilge pumps. I figured the redundancy of a second is better than one. No way I would not have one as much rough open water as we sometimes cross.
