Are the new Briggs 40's holding up?
well, as my 36 has locked up and although I freed it up, I am scared of it and need a new engine. matter of fact I gave it away. I am wanting some feedback on the 40 briggs. are they blowing up? are they holding up? doesn't matter what outdrive it's on. either gonna go 37efi or 40, just seeing if anybody got an opinion on which way to go.

The 40 made some improvements and should be a bit more consistent, the 37 just had the efi slapped on top of what most of us acknowledge was a crapshoot with the 35. You either got a good one or a bad one. I would recommend the 40.
