Just wondering what kind of RPM's i should be able to turn with the throttle pegged with a Mud Buddy sd Kohler 26.5 with the big blade prop. 2 people @ 225 lbs, 40 qt Rtic cooler loaded, modest amount of fishin stuff, 2 battery's one front one back, 6 gal fuel front. Excel 1651 SWV4. At best 36-3700 RPM's, 18-19 mph in open water. No mods all stock. Seem normal? I'm new to surface drives and still trying to learn. Thanks for any info.

Never paid much attention to the tach when I'm alone but the speed gets up to 22 almost 23 mph. It does completely change the feel of the boat... almost like a magic carpet ride. :D

Check out your rpm's while you're by yourself.
You cant expect that size horsepower to tote much more of a load, being stock.

Hull is robbing you of a few MPH as well.

Bryce, i still haven't made a run by myself to check rpm's. A trip to the mountains got in the way of that. 50fps, the mph is what it is I guess. I'm not a speed freak and am happy its over twice as fast as my small longtail on a jon boat. I hope to be on the water this weekend, sure hate that thing sittin round not being used. Think its time to soak a few jugs for ol' mr. wiskers.
