Ive got an 08 PD with manual reverse. Anytime i want to ratchet it around i have to stick my foot down in the water/mud to hold the lower unit in place so the ratchet will actually turn. Anyone know how i can make the system work better? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Is the spring on the pin good? You gotta swing it far enough for the pin to catch. |

I always noticed theres a little technique to it when trying to ratchet it in open water. lol First of all, make sure you have good grease in there to eliminate it sticking when trying to turn the LU. You have to be quick with the ratcheting for the pin to catch lol it's like a quick arm movement technique lol tough to explain, but every person with an old PD with Ratchet Reverse knows what I mean

Yep, you have to out run the lower unit with the handle. The faster you do it, the better it works. Have to create resistance on the lower unit. |
