Post Would you stick with remote or go to tiller steer
Eventually, I will upgrade to a 40 PD. Dr. Duck told me to wait 8 months and supposedly PD will come out with instant reverse (so I’ve heard for the past year).

That being said, this is my rig. As you see the console is at the front right of the boat. Its a 2048. Question is, would you go with a tiller or stick with the side console.

Here is why I’m considering tiller (1) I don’t like how the front of the boat carries all of the weight and plows down onto the ground when in shallows; (2) its cheaper.

Cons against tiller: (1) tiller arm; (2) idk.

The problem with your question is your asking what would we do. Everyone is different, I prefer tiller over steering for what "I" do, but the next guy up may prefer steering. Its really what "you" like and what are "your" needs.

I will never own a console boat again. Tiller opens up your floor space and is out of the way when you're hunting. Used to see fishing guides running CC's on their jet sleds all over the river. Now they've all gone to tillers, and I mean big tillers--150-200hp. You would think a motor that big would be tough to manage and steer but they all claim they aren't. Consoles take up floor space that can be used for gear or guys. They also get in the way of blinds.

Some will never run anything but consoles, side or center. Some prefer tillers. 70% of my use a console would be great, but the other 30% is why I have a tiller. If I ever add a boat to the fleet, it'll be a center console.

If you wanna have an awesome time and maybe stay in a room where children were conceived on one side and someone got stabbed over an 8-ball on the other come on down I got a can of raid. :D
