I bought a used GTR 37efi CC on 18x50 GTR boat last year. Honestly don’t have a lot of drive time, especially not in bad stuff. I keep having trouble in 4-6” of water with hard clay bottom. I can walk the boat out of it, but can’t get more than ~1mph with motor. The motor drags on bottom and won’t get any speed. Once planed out no issue at all. Tried repeatedly reversing/forward to clear a hole out big enough to get enough speed, but never was able to make that word either. What can I do to help get moving? Actually... I just remembered how I got out of it last year (I was alone today). My partner got up on front of bow, like way up there, and we got out of it with no reversing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Walk beside the boat when alone to get the back up, as you pick up speed, keep hopping on one foot while resting your other leg on the boat but limiting your full weight on the boat. Eventually you'll either bust your ass or be able to get the boat to have enough water pressure under to keep the hull from dragging on the hard bottom. Or: get a longtail or longer boat. #CFFITR #mudmotor>physics |

That’s pretty much how I ended up getting to deep enough water to get out. Super sketchy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
