I'm soon to be in the market for a newer motor. The EFI motors have been out for a while now, and I'm hoping all of the kinks have been worked out. I seem to remember that there was some wiring harness issue on the 37s. Are those issues still showing up? Do the cases still leak pretty quickly? I'm a big fan of keeping stuff simple. I strongly considering a 40HP GDSD, non FNR. Just not sure if I want to make the leap to EFI. Anybody got any issues with the newer EFI motors? |

I've been having a 40 efi GDSD FNR for about a year. Maybe longer. 250+ hours. No issues yet on the EFI system Sent from my SM-G986U using Tapatalk |

I was one of the champions for staying carb for a while because of my distrust of all things Briggs. They've got the efi working fine now, harness issues aren't really a thing anymore unless you have the era of 37s with the original harness. Not to say you won't ever have a problem, just that it's not an expected thing anymore. It's still a briggs, but don't stdess it anymore than you would've before. #CFFITR #mudmotor>physics |
