Post subject:  40XD Fuel Burn Info Needed
I've searched, and about all I can find is 35 and 37 fuel burn posts.

I want to run about 35 or so miles one way to fish some spots that I used to use my bay boat for. About how many gallons of fuel do I need to have onboard to safely travel 80-100 miles round trip?

2021 40XD GTR
2007 18x54 Flat GT Hull
Rod Box
Gun Box
Battery box
Troll motor and one battery
400 lbs of passengers

Are you running full throttle the whole way there? I ran about 30 miles with a similar set up and estimated about 6 MPG running mostly wide open. I knew I had about 5ish gallons of gas in the tank and ran out about 300 yards from the boat ramp returning.

yep, I'll have it in the corner at least the whole way there and back. I"m thinking 16 gallons at least, but I have no clue how much fuel it burns. I only have 3 hours on it.

Expect similar usage to the 37 and you'll be close enough. When you get to half of your fuel onboard used, stop. Lol

If you have a portable 6 gallon and it’s starts to bounce around, you have about 1.75 beers before the motor cuts out at WTFO.
