Re: sending motor off
Ditto what Bundy said...sort of (Bundy, this ain't texting...please use full words in your message ). Find a good Briggs and Stratton repair shop in your area and have them check out the motor. Then get yourself a belt tensioning gauge from Mudbuddy and do the simple belt tension check yourself. Otherwise you will get ate up in freight costs. And for what it's worth, I have owned multiple mud motors and have done all maintenance myself...maintenance being oil changes. I have never had to do a valve adjustment, although maybe performance of my motors might have benefitted from it. So there you go.

Re: sending motor off
It might be cheaper to just drive it there if you live anywhere near Stevenson, Al. Pretty sure they can do all that stuff at Mud Creek Marina.
