Hello, I am a fairly new owner of a stock 2012 35 HP GTR on a 48"x 18' Extreme Hull. I would really like to know what the chronology of the different Phases that people keep referring to as well as what the heck is the different Stages. I also would like to know if HD means Heavy Duty or whatit might mean. I would search on the forum, but it seems the search feature is very specific.
I see Phase one Stage two or three and I have no idea what that means.
I assume it may mean the different era of the motor and a second level of modifications, but it would be really helpful if someone would lay that out.
I know for some this is rudimentary and I will knowingly admit my ignorance if you want to ridicule me, help a fellow out though.

The fancy letters in a model of mudmotor mean something to the manufacturer, but dont get too hung up on that stuff. It's just marketing. XD, HD, etc.....

As far as engine stages are concerned, it's not an exact thing but for most of us theres some commonly agreed upon configurations.

Stage 1: aftermarket exhaust, headwork, aftermarket carb (or efi tuning if you have efi)
Stage 2: add a cam to the above mods
Stage 3: add longer rods/shaved or different piston

This isnt a rule, just a generally accepted set of configs. An edit could be no headwork, but add a cam to make it a stage 1. Or do pistons and rods to make it a stage 2 instead of heads. Etc. Many ways to skin this cat, but that gives you an idea.

it clears up the mods, what about the Word Phase used often in descriptions?

I don't know much, but I do know u ain't in the cool club till you but a obnoxiously loud muffler on it.
