I know the changed the 37 and went with the 35 in the big dog 60-72 mower. My local dealer for big dog told my the same thing and he said Kaw is giving 2000 hours factory warr Briggs don't do that!

I couldn't stand it, after some tinkering, that's a Mikuni TM40-6 hanging off the Kawi!

Got about a mile and a half on top and 500 rpm. Of course the throttle response outta the hole and generally better manners are a given. Don't get me wrong the Kawi stocker is worlds apart from Briggs' carb but with the accelerator pump you don't get that bog when ya stick it. Exhaust build is on the table next as this factory bumper is tremendously restricted. So far this engine is a real sweetie.

T, it's pretty much an easy greasy swap. So far I love it! Sorta missed the built power of the other but this fucker is a lot better. I never was tryin' win any "mud boat races" but just wanted enough power to push my big ass boat.

When I get some extra moolah I'm gonna try one of the DFI engines and I think I've got a nerd that'll tweak the program. She'll hold steady mid 26's at 4k, on a lighter tiller boat (17-54?) I feel confidant that the stock motor would be in the high 20's and around 30 with just carb. We'll know soon... Maybe...

Avg speed here. Runs 27 w any ripple and this was in deepish 4-5' water depth finder skips on step

He's in a loaded ass 1860.... That Kawi is stronger than the Briggs stock to stock and showing great potential.

Hell there is 75 lbs of plastic worms alone in the boat.

37 hrs at teardown all on 93 octane pump gas.

Things are looking good so far, pressures held fine with right at 40 hours, no valve issues, got 3 engines apart right now, playing with a cam, decking some heads, getting interesting...

Yup. After having a look inside and seeing the internals and such, it definitely has serious potential. But like the briggs when it was first modded, its all trail and error. And every part has to be custom made, no shops offer anything.

I noticed while working on these heads that there is huge gain to get from these heads. The sharp angles and corners, huge valve guides, this sucker was greatly restricted. Hopefully it won't be too much longer before we fire up a modded kawi.

Gettin' good now! Got all weekend to port and polish...

Get it done so we can go catch them whites I was telling you about!!
