Re: Ecotrons I was talking to a master mechanic today from caterpillar and this guy goes all around the world when they having big problems with there engines. We grt on the subject about EFI and he told me carbs are a thing of the pass people will talk bad about EFI because they really don't know shit about them. He said with the right tuning an EFI will out preform a carb any day even if the carb is set to the best setting. The reason is you can tune the EFI and tell it what you want it to do.

Re: Ecotrons Stt when u do ur stage two. what differences will u do in the cam profile and head work. Or will u not have to change anything different at all. I'am still waiting for a answer back on the full Briggs warranty that can be preformed at any Briggs dealer. I sure hope that the over hundred grand that u spent on r&d works out for ur company. How long are u guys behind on installs and kit sales.

Re: Ecotrons I'am just kidding. The use of Efi is the way to go. Eliminates all of the carbs shortcomings. It's up to those if they want to spend the bucks. Two grand is a bit much for most. The next EPA carb specs is going to almost mandate the manufactures to go to Efi. On the other thread they battle about a/f mixtures. I would be more concerned about. The cam the head work. The after market cams out there need to be looked at as far as being compatible with the Efi . Head work to. Some may argue but a flow benchis a must. I have never never seen a head guru that doesn't have and use one. Just my two cents.

Re: Ecotrons The purpose on most of the camshafts on the market is to move the peak torque up in the rpm range. That way you can carry a load better at faster speeds.

Re: Ecotrons I was rolling a steady 30 mph with my boat bone stock, after the work I'm getting done I'm positive I'll be doing around 33 no sweat.  Good ol Briggs carb, can't beat it........
