What can I do to a 27 hp Kohler engine to get more power? I know an exhaust can be added but what else could be done without breaking my pocket book? I know getting a new prop would really help because mine measures out at about 11.5" right now. The sand killed it up here in the lake crappie fishing. Also, how much would it help to get a new prop? |

We been talkin through pm's. I've torn em down and built a couple now. Had some bad luck with a couple companies, so I can tell you where not to go... Far from an expert. Learned most of what I know from help on this site. Learned a lot of what I know just from not being too scared to tear stuff down on my own, and not being afraid to ask questions...OR READ A FREAKIN MANUAL!!! For the kohlers, EVT or Midwest Super Cub is who you want to deal with. EVT is gonna have more knowledge about building them for our application. Midwest has a shitload of parts for them, and Julian has a ton of knowledge on Kohlers in general. He's helped a few mm guys get some motors put together also. |

You need to get a new prop. It will make all the difference in the world. |

My prop is definately worn down. Does it really make that much of a difference getting on plane and at top speed. It is an inch smaller than stock. |

I am ordering one tomorrow. I can't believe an inch affects performance that much, but I reckon I'll be a believer about this time next week. |

If u have lost an inch of dia., how much surface area do u think u lost? The whole leading surface of the blade will also b worn. A new prop will help a lot. |
