Mufflers
Men, a couple of questions please....
Who makes the best aftermarket muffler and why?
Also, are there any pros/cons with running duals on a stock 35?
Thanks in advance for the help!

Re: Mufflers
Man....IMO the best bet for the money is An Extreme V-Twins muffler....LIFETIME warranty. It's some coin up front but they will stand behind it-
Keep a stocker around so if you sell the motor, keep the EVT and hang it on the next one so long as you stay with the same size block

Re: Mufflers
The BPS duals have the 'cool' factor- won't work on a GT but give room for spark arrestor and pre-filter on carb kits.
The BPS crossover has the silencer and room for carb kits.
The old can style BPS crossover's are usually a bargain.
All of the aftermarket's flow better than the stock exhaust and dont leave crap in your cylinders when the baffles break.

Re: Mufflers
I'll put in my opinion, even though it sounds like you've already made your choice... I'm on my third Hopkins muffler. The first broke, and second broke so bad it fell off the back of my motor into the lake. I seem to be the only one with this problem though.

Re: Mufflers
tchredneck posted some pics of his muffler, seems dependable thus far and probably don't break the bank.

Re: Mufflers
I like my Hopkins. I did loose the heat shield and it definately is a weak point. With only 2 mounting points, one on either side, it is a bad design. If they added a couple more on the top and bottom it would be much better. Don't know what its there for anyway as it serves no purpose other than looks anyway IMO.

Re: Mufflers
My Hopkins did the same thing as Poker's. Other than losing the heat shield, I've been very happy with mine.

Re: Mufflers
How much louder with the EVT? Is it more throaty, more loud, or both? Not like wear ear plug loud? It doesn't look all that clean, gots bolts and metal straps holdin' it together. I guess it doesn't matter in the end if it does the job.

Re: Mufflers
So, is it loud or what? I don't live in the dirty south and there aren't all that many of them around- don't know of any with a performance exhaust that I could go and hear in person.
