 Throttle cable tight on mikuni
How to loosen up the stiffness in the throttle cable it won't release back to idle I took it apart and put some WD 40 to loosen it up and it still won't release all the way

Re: Throttle cable tight on mikuni
Adjustment located on the cable itself is the only thing I can think of.

Re: Throttle cable tight on mikuni
Some cables have an adjustment sleeve on them, some don't. If you don't have it, you have to adjust cable tension by bending the bracket that holds the cable by the poly roller.
Before doing that, are you sure everything else is set right?

Re: Throttle cable tight on mikuni
Is the cable still tight when throttle is released? If not, then you've got another issue & don't need to adjust cable. If it IS still tight, & you do NOT have the adjustment barrel on the cable, then you'd bend the tab in circled in the pic to adjust tension on the cable.

Re: Throttle cable tight on mikuni
No, more likely he bumped something while taping/masking it off. Probably just a simple adjustment.

Re: Throttle cable tight on mikuni
Are you saying that the cable is to short now to release the tension on the carb, or that the cable is binding in cable housing? ( slack at the throttle lever/ grip) . If you have enough length and its not returning it sounds like you might have a broken strand unraveling some where in the housing causing it to bind.

Re: Throttle cable tight on mikuni
I could feel it was real tight when I was running at 1/2 throttle ad when go to accelerate all the way it was very tight and when I got back to landing te cable stayed stuck and it was idling at like 2500 rpm It wouldn't let it release I could t even push it back with my thumb It would never go back all the way but I could always jut push it back with my thumb
