Deadbird, take a look at this pic of my GTR23. I understand there maybe a clearance issue with installing a Mikuni carb and having a stock Briggs muffler. From looking at your install there seems to be just enough clearance above my exhaust tube to clear a the filter. Is the issue maybe with the heat of the exhaust pipe so close to the filter?

the limiter that came with my mukuni has 4650 on it. i don need to go thats high thats for sure.

Dguidry i have the mukuni and only clerance issues i had was the bottom of the carb and it touching the govener screw on the block. besides that everything else fit fine. i have about 1/16 to 1/8 of a inch clerence from carb and screw head.

Post subject:  Re: High Rev CDI Coils

I guess we'll all wait and see how much they'll be. Being that these coils are unique items and only Mudbuddy has them, we're pretty much at their discretion as far as pricing goes. I will say this though, I think these coils will make the older ignition systems obsolete on the high performance motors. I'm sure we're going to start seeing CDI HD 7000's anytime soon.

I hope Mud Buddy puts a big Mud Buddy sign on them so the guys running the GT's and GD's on here can remember who's leading the pack!

$350 a set. Not sure if they are worth the money to me. Maybe something to do at a later time.

Post subject:  Re: High Rev CDI Coils

I installed the new coils on my PD yesterday. A couple of things:

1. The coils do not go on in the same configuration as your stock coils. The easy thing to remember is the spark plug wire comes out the same side as the plug...not the case with the stock coils.

2. The wire going to the right coil is too short with out some minor tweaking. I had to cut the rubber boot, and then use electrical tape to protect the wires..

3. The screw in the coil is a 9/32...easier than a Phillips ( the screws will strip)

4. Remember to gap the coils with a business card.

Besides that very easy. My motor out of the water is turning 4450 at 3/4 throttle with a stock carb...this is a new motor so I haven't tested the 4700 yet.
