 32pd with mods rev limit
My uncle purchased a 1754 with a modded 32 prodrive. I am not exactly sure what mods have been done to the motor, but I know it has a mikuni carb, high flow muffler, different camshaft, bigger valves, etc.... Question is, what is a safe rpm to stay under? This past weekend I went to the coast with my family and I noticed when getting on plane the motor would damn near hit 5k rpms! The rest of the weekend I tried my best to watch the throttle and stay around 4200 rpms and not go over, the boat ran awesome and has a ton of lowend power and I guess decent speed. With 4 people and a big cooler full to the top I could run 27-29 in deep water and by myself I hit 31 in the ship channel. The motor has a rev limiter, but it seems like it kicks in to late in my opinion. Is there a way to lower the current rev limiter? If it helps I beleive the rev limiter thats on the motor is from extreme v twins. Thanks in advance!

Re: 32pd with mods rev limit
If it has stock connecting rods you should stay ~4600. If it has all upgraded internals, even though it can run up to 5K staying below that will lengthen the life of the motor.
