I am new to this engine and have a few questions-

First, what should the WOT rpm range be on this engine? I thought I read somewhere around 3,600 but I have seen several other numbers mentioned. I am running around 3,400-3,600 depending on trim and load.

Second, at WOT I notice sort of a rapid faint clicking/ticking sound? (similar to the sound of fuel injectors) This noise goes away when I back off the throttle a bit. Normal?

Third, is there any problem with running these engines constantly at WOT or Is it better to back off a bit and run at about 80%?

Finally, The engine wants to stall occasionally from lack of fuel. I believe that the problem could be too large of fuel line for such a small fuel pump, the boat came with 5/16 line already installed. If this is the problem, do you upgrade the pump or downsize the fuel line?

so far as stalling check the fuel filter for bubbles when your running wide open. If no bubbles your good to go so far as air getting in the line.

Mine was stalling during the spring white bass run and I just got around to fixing it. I bypassed the mechanical fuel pump and plumbed in a 12v fuel pump wired in with the ignition. I ran 25 miles the other day and not nary one stall or hick up.

One of the good things I can see with the e-pump is I can throw another one on the boat and if the installed one fails I can change the pump in the field in less that 10 minutes. I installed it on the transom brace as you can see in the pic.

Mine is running 3700 but I have the 35hp. So far as ticking I don't know.
