Post subject:  GT Trim Problem

Okay guys, ive got a question for yall. i have a 2004 GT 27 and the other day i took it to the river and it ran great and trim worked flawlessly. the next day i took the motor off the boat due to high water levels so i could put my outboard on. well after i took it off the boat and put it on the motor pallet i had built, i went to trim the motor down on the pallet and it wouldnt work? i know its not electrical due to the fact that when i would hit the trim button, the trim hydraulic would kick on and load up like its working but i got zero movement. same result for trimming up and down. sounds like its working and loading up but no actual result???? i looked and have no fluid leak or any sign of problem? im now lost at what to do or try, any suggestions? or solutions? anything at this point helps! thanks

Purge out old hydraulic fluid and fill back up, could be low. Also must be mounted in the upright position to work. Laying on its side on a pallet it will not work.

If it was working before u took it off, then I would say something got bumped in the process of the removal. Make sure connections are secure and have a good ground

I had this exact same problem recently. As mentioned above I had to purge out the old oil and refill and it worked like a champ! Might have a small leak that you cant see. I noticed oil on the transom of my boat, but yet to find a leak on the ram anywhere.

X2 on draining the oil and replacing it. If you can't move it by hand after draining the fuids, there is a purge screw on the back, take that out and that fluid should unlock the ram
