HELP!!!!! Engine Racing on Start Up
The opener is less than 12 hours away and my buddy needs some help desperate! He has a Mudbuddy 35 about 5 years old and he tried to adjust the governor tonight to get a few hundred more RPMs (he has been at about 3600 for about a year). He adjusted it the way he had in the past, but now when he starts it the engine races like the throttle is pinned. All the carburator linkages appear to work as they are supposed to and don't know what else to check.
Any recommendations on what to look at? Any chance something could be damaged inside causing the engine to race?

How did he adjust it? Just bending the tab is how most do it. Flushing my motor today and same was happening, throttle cable was not resetting all the way, might loosen the throttle cable screw and see if that helps.

Re: HELP!!!!! Engine Racing on Start Up
You don't bend tabs to adjust the governor on a 35, if he bent something- bend it back. Turn the governor adjustment screw on the slide CW to turn up the OOW revs to ~4200 RPM.

If he adjusted it why not put it back where it was duh. Tie wrap a few loops on the governor spring make it tighter and pull harder.
