lookin for reviews on stage I and II motors in particular gatortails, i have used the search feature but have found very few stage II's i am just wondering what boat your runnin, speeds loaded and unloaded. but most importantly i want to know about load carrying capacity. lets say i have a 18' boat with a hunt deck, will a stage 2 get 4 ppl and gear on step or will it fall on its face?

thanks,trey

The cam in my opinion is where its at on the load carrying ability. The Mikuni gives good throttle response.

Shouldn't matter to you anymore since all areas around you are going idle only like McIntyre scatters before next season. You can do that now.

yeah i'll be idleing around alot but in the summer fishing grenada lake(or whats left of it) and jus playing around. how ever i need the speed hunting on greentree resavoir. but i dont want to throw reliability out of the door. if im not mistaken a bps 5500 mag engine would still be considered a stage 2 correct?

Yes shaved stock Briggs probably going to put the 493 f in it with shaved flywheel and mikuni. Also might break down and get roller rockers

What I'm telling you is that you are the ONLY person to break 38 mph with a stock GT big blade prop.

Chops claimed to break 40 also with both props but could never prove it.

They must run better in Texas.

Good...get takem's boat out and get us a pic of that gps showing 39+mph with a stock GT prop.

I'll eat the crow.

Correct.

Which is irrelevant to this argument as the prop we're discussing is a 12x10.

Help me out here as I'm a little slow and having trouble understanding, but what exactly does revving an engine on a stand prove in regard to a stock gt prop achieving speeds greater than 38mph?

Post up a video showing the tach @ 5300+ rpm and gps at 40 mph utilizing a stock GT prop like you claim.

Post subject:  Re: stage I & stage II whose got em?

If you never Broke 38 then i can show you what it feels like lol My engine wasn't revved on a stand, it was done in the water and 5300 ain't nothing, i can promise you that
