Just ordered bps exhaust for my 23 and don't want to melt some chit, anybody got pictures of a fabed heat shield. Did a search could not find much

I have gtr23 with beepeesss crossover exhaust. You will not melt your cover.

This will be my first "mod" on my 23 will the gains be similar to puting a pipe on a dirt bike or a four wheeler ?

You will notice a little improvement, but not much. Will sound badass tho. I would put a cam as ur next mod, for a few hundred bucks you will be very satisfied. And to get the full advantage of the cam, is exhaust which you will have. Just my .2 8-)

I know someone kinda melted their gtr cover, but not up in flames like Rod.

Exhaust caught plastic cover on fire, which caught brake lines, planetary gear seals , and brake caliper up. Along with some wiring and a belt.

my factory exhaust has a heat shield on it now and thought about using that if there is a heat problem.....thats freaking crazy that your motor caught fire. Also If i add a cam do I lose that ability to use the pull start?

No. a cam dosent affect the compression at all.
