Im thinking about getting a gator tail package the 40 series boat. Do I get the 25hp on that boat or the 35hp I want to haul ass but be able to punch out of a sticky mess also I'll be running through slightly harder bottoms with scattered oyster oyster shells. Mud here in texas is sandy mud so I don't know if thats an important factor as well.

Also if the mph difference is only a couple than 25hp is fine but if it turns out to be a exponential difference the more weight I put in the boat I'd rather get the 35 because no telling how many new friends I'm going to have once I get this beast. Any clear ideas?

I'd get the 35 and the 18x46 that 40 is just kinda small for a 35 not that it wouldn't work but for hauling loads it would suffer

48 is a good bottom, glad you chose a good motor!

35 stock is good on that boat, and if you ever want more there are a few mod options. A 25 will work but you will want more and if you mod it, it wiil just get close to a stock 35 or slightly above.

If I dont get the GTR and just get the GT can they upgrade it if I decide to spend the cash later on?
