You know those 2 holes on the transom bracket? They're not just there to reduce weight, you're supposed to run bolts thru em...

Post Re: Ever had this happen before?
We were back in the woods and a tree fell so i decided to ease over it. my boat got stuck about half way so me and a buddy each got on the log and started pushing the boat on over. When we got it moving and jumped back into the boat all of the sudden the motor came right off the transom and landed on the tree. I have no clue how the motor didn't fall in the water. The water depth was around 8 ft. probably. Needless to say it was a long night and that bastard is bolted through now!

Had a 15 hp Johnson break off the back of a boat when we hit a log in the river. Not a fun ride back wit one paddle.

Where did you get the plate under the trim unit? My buddy needs one. His motor is a weed collector due to the nut under the trim unit.

Mistakes are what you learn from. Easy to get in a hurry when your excited about your new motor and wanting to go run it.

There is a difference between leaving your reverse block down then hitting a pipeline wide open and being to lazy. Either way both operator error.

The rev lock wasn't down when I hit the pipe. Motor was turned to one side and slidin sideways. When I hit the pipe at such an odd angle it just sheared it off.

The reverse block is down in the second picture!!!!!! Regardless your motor didn't fall off. You broke the transom mount! Not the same as being to lazy to put bolts through the transom.
