Post GTR 35 Stage 1 Bad Knock
I have 10 hours on brand new GTR 35 with Stage 1 rig. I noticed a bad knock on the left cylinder this weekend when I changed the break-in oil. I opened the valve covers and checked the valve lash - it was out by a few thousandths. I adjusted the lash, put the valve covers back on and the knock is still there. Anyone have any idea why I'm getting this knock? I'm having a lot of trouble getting a hold of anyone at GT.

That'd be about 1,000 miles for me.

Hey man I don't mean to make light of a bad thing gone wrong with your motor, but that knock you hear might be a box delivery at your front door by someone trying to leave you GT apparel.

Does suck though. I bought a brand new motor and had to get the kinks out too. Hope you get it worked out!

What he heard was a normal roller rocker tapping, my motor did it from the get go on one side, never had a problem, i listened to it over the phone and we went over a couple things. hoyt also was in on it, we came to he conclusion to just run it. he has a Hoyt stage one on the motor which consist of cam, heads, exhaust. Told him if it gets louder to let us know

After talking to GT, I took the boat out and ran it like a scalded dog. Runs fine. The knocking is normal, I suppose. It's just strange to to hear it so much louder on one side over the other. They stand behind their motors though. Thanks for all the help.
