When hot and starting / backfires sometimes
When i am starting the motor and it's hot, sometimes the motor backfires. This is a Vanguard 35 with exhaust, Mikuni, Head work, Cam, Rods, Flat top Pistons, EVT intake, Roller Rockers. Valve lash is set at 5

Check your exhaust for a leak. Mine was doing the same thing, and it was an exhaust leak.

or readjust yur valves. possibly too much fuel. not all the fuel is being burned in the cylinder and igniting in the hot exhaust.
