As the title says, I have a 35 hp Vanguard. In order to keep it running it has to be choked. After running for awhile it wouldn't run at all unless the air filter cover was removed, choked or not. New air filter. Took the carb off and y'all were right. Had a lot of jelly looking buildup in the carb bowl. Ran great after cleaned out. Now I am fighting the motor doesn't want to stay in the water, wants to keep blowing out. I read on this forum that I need to adjust the cavitation plate but its a Beavertail motor and the plate is not straight the last few inches has about a 45 degree angle down. I guess I will bend that up until condition improves. Thanks again to everyone who replied. |

Sounds like the carb needs to be cleaned out. |

Thanks for the replys. Do you recommend running something like Seafoam through it or just go ahead and rebuild the carb? Thanks |
