Post Pro Drive Engine Mods
I know this has been discussed in the length but I’m just looking for some help. I run an 18X60 with a full metal blind with a 36 hp Pro Drive. I’m not really looking for top end speed but just more power to get the boat up on plain better with three guys and a full load of decoys ( 60+). I was wondering if a set of heads, exhaust, and some work on the intake would do it or should I have a new cam installed with some other work done…pistons, new rev limiter , ect.

Thanks.

Where are you located at? Are you planning on doing the work yourself?[/quote]

I’m located in SW Wisconsin near Dubuque IA. I can put the exhaust on and most likely the heads but after that I would have to pay someone.

Mag10 and MitchV are both in that area. They would be possible guys who might give you a hand. You could PM them and ask.

I agree with tchauvin, get a hold of Cody and he could recommend and supply you with what your looking for based on your expectations. I have run different configurations on my block and so far the number one issue has been related to head work (valves leaking). I would lean towards a cam, heads and exhaust setup fwiw.

SETX guys will give you a great set up that will matched for what you think you need and also matched component to component. More locally, there is gentlemen in Buffalo City Wi that does some nice headwork at a very resonable cost. I can not remember his name right now, but I will see if I can dig it up. The guys at Phowler boat's will also do any of that work for you also. Adding headwork and exhaust really wakes these engines up. That is where I would start in your case.

Pretty sure it is BK Engines in Buffalo City. The guy builds a lot of race car engines in a 3 stall garage off his house. His shop is pretty impressive once you get inside. Shoot me a PM if you need any help.
