Went to take the boat out yesterday and got about 500yrds from the launch and it killed. There was no fuel in the filter and when id squeez the ball it would stay squeezed. Recognized the battery slipped off its tray and pinched the fuel line closed. After fixing the fuel line problem the motor would start but wont go passed idle without killing.

Im thinking the carb might be clogged up from an old fuel filter being run dry? The exhaust on the boat also got blown out last time i took it out and didnt realize it till i got behind the motor out on the water. (it still has an exhaust just the exit hole is a little bigger).

COuld it be anything else?

check for trash in the carb..

might need a new filter and fuel line if its old.
