Post Porpoising weld bead test with no welding!!!
My boat was porpoising bad, so bad I thought the trolling motor was going to bounce off the front. So I read a thread about welding a bead on the transom so I wanted to test it before I went welding for no reason so this is what I did. I've used this stuff in the past so I knew it was strong, its called JB Steelstik its a 2 part puddy that bonds to aluminum dam good. First sand paint off 4 " in from outside of back edge of transom about 8" wide with course sand paper. Then clean with acetone let dry, I ran a propane torch over is to make sure it was totally dry and warm. Then mix the puddy, do only a quarter of the stick at a time, its grey with a black center mix it till its all black. Then roll it in your hands to the desired (I started at about 3/8) bead and stick it to the boat making sure to work in the edges and in 1 hour is hard.. went and ran it and no more porpoising.... I put mine on a little heavy so tomorrow I'm going to shave it down a bit and test again but I tell ya if you have a porpoising problem give this a try first...

Awesome idea, nice to be able to test that before you put the fire to it!

Wright minds think alike, I used sea repair on my wedges. Lasted for a really long time, over a year.
