When you gutted it, did you leave the stock outlet pipe? |

Yes I left the stock outlet pipe. Also turned the idle jets out to 2.5 turns. That removed the bog |

How Far Did You Stick The Outlet Pipe Into The Can? |

I kept the original outlet pipe and just drilled additional holes inside the can. Breathes much better and throttle response is great but now it back fires. Also opened up the air idle to 3.5 turns. |

Steady air stream coming behind this fitting. But I think its welded on the inside ? Could it be the cooling fan air or is this fitting leaking. How do you test it ? |

you would know if its hot exhaust air .... most likely the cooling fan venting near there, prolly to help cool it. |

Yep, it's just the fan air. FYI, I ported that carb intake some also. Fatten it up a lil more. |

Is it backfiring only when you rev and let off with no load. If so, that is pretty typical for these open exhausts. If it is still doing it when you rev and let off under load (prop in water) then worry about it. Mag10 |

Running great. Opened up the idle air mixture 3.5 turns. No bog. No backfire under load. Only backfires on land at WOT to zero. Problem is going away on its own. Motor is still breaking in. I think it's starting to run better. Thank you all ! |
