Post 2012 Dixie 10hp on 1436 Jon boat
Anyone know what angle transom and what height the transom should be for this set up? With two guys and a hunt load my boat is not getting on plane and running about 5-6 mph. I'm wondering if my engine might be mounted wrong. Thanks for the help guys.

Had the same problem this weekend. Ran a 10 hp Dixie on a 1236 and would haul azz with just me in it but add another person and wouldn't plane out.

Thanks guys she ran a little better today with two guys and a load. Around 11-12 in deep water after I shimmed the motor to a steeper degree.

prlanier, I had the same rig as you but sold it in November. My fastest speed by myself was 18.6 mph and with 2 people it was 12.4 mph. These little mm are weight sensitive. You have to play around and position your weights around inside your boat. When it was by myself (my weight is 165 lbs) I had my marine battery in the middle and my 2.5 gal fuel tank in the front. When it was 2 people I had the 2nd person in the middle area with the marine battery. Gas tank was still up front.
