Post subject:  Diesel Generator Isuzu or Perkins

I'm putting the purchase on a new generator for my camp. I think I narrowed it down to either a Isuzu or Perkins engine. The generator will be the same on the two so I guess it's a preference.
Hopefully some diesel mechanics can give me some feed back on which they would rather have and why. I don't really know anything about diesels so any help would be appreciated

Here are the engine specs.

I'd go with Isuzu, Mitsubishi, Yanmar, or Kubota......... It's easier to find parts and they are readily available!

Get the Isuzu !!! We have a 13kw set with over 4000 hrs on it and not a single problem.
Check out hardydiesel.com that's where we got ours. Much cheaper than anywhere else and shipping most times is free.
Try to get one with a Newage or Marathon end on it. Stay away from the Chinese gen ends, they are junk.

I am a technician. Maybe you get help already. But I still want to share my ideas on your topic. From your specifications, the generator you are looking is a small generator with Perkins engine. You can contact Perkins generator manufacturer or supplier whether they can provide to you. Because not every supplier can produce very small generator. For small generator, I suggest you use portable generator (gasoline) that can be moved easily. Diesel generator is heavy. We are diesel generator manufacturer. For Perkins engine generator, we produce 24KW to 1800KW (http://www.dieselgeneratortech.com/Perkins/) with various types, such as open type, silent type, trailer type, portable type and container type, etc. All the generating sets are water-cooled. But different specifications, the technical data is also different. Fuel consumption is also different.
