Just swapped out the exhaust and threw a bps carb kit on the 23. No change in top speed or rpms. Haven’t had a heavy load in it yet so not sure how much easier she gets on plane with weight. Is this normal? I got the carb kit super cheap, I wasn’t expecting big changes to top end speed but I expected top end rpms to be higher than 3800 in the water. Right now I’m runnin ngbtwin straight pipes. Bps x lite will be here in a few days.
If the rest of the engine is stock I wouldn't expect much difference but I would hope for a little more power. For any carb bolt on the tuning should be checked and corrected imo.

Re: New carb and exhaust on the 23
Does the motor still have a governor? If so even if you gained more power the cam weights would still be thrown at the same rpm correct? So any gains would be limited by the governor i believe.
