Got towed in tonight due to clutch problems on my 4500 BD. It would go into gear but as soon as u give it gas it jumps back in neutral. It got to the point that it won't even go in gear. My question is does it sound like the clutch circuit breaker went out or the clutch itself? Motor has about 125 hrs on it. Gonna give it a look in the morning and any advice would be appreciated! Thanks |

Check wire leading to clutch. Could have worn through. |

Had the same problem, my switch was shot. Gave it throttle and the vibration would cause the switch to drop out. |

The quickest way to eliminate the switch as an issue is to open the football and pull the single red wire off and connect it to the brown wire (forward position). This will enable the clutch directly and you can crank the engine wired this way. However, it bypasses the neutral position. If it still behaves like you described it not the switch. |
