I have a 2007 mud buddy 35 that has around 50 hours or so on it. It has been upgraded to the new mercury trim and it seems that I can only trim the motor down to where the skeg has fallin just below the huntdeck of my gator trax. Is there some sort of adjust, eat indeed to make to the trim to allow the motor to trim all the way down like it should?

Here's a picture of it trimmed all the way down to its max.

Can't say on yours since the merc is an upgrade, but sounds like one of the mounting points is off. A little change at the transom is a big difference out at the end of the shaft. Is the shaft fully retracted in the pic or is there another stop?

That's full down for me.

Too much fluid in the pump? It has to go somewhere, if the reservoir is full the piston doesn't have anywhere to drain and can't retract.

In the picture I posted the motor is trimmed as far down as it can go as of now. Does anyone knowif the old trims were like this?

Was it working right before? Or did you just do the trim upgrade? Did you get the whole new trim mounting bracket for the merc?

When you get a chance look and see if the piston is fully retracted.

The piston is fully retracted and I recently just got my boat and motor. The previous owner said that he upgraded to the new trim. I'll take some pictures.

Yeah that bracket with the slide is the the bear trim unit isn't it? The merc shouldn't have that piece out of the bottom of the piston. Can you take out that bottom stopper and put your bottom pin there?

You'll prob get some more views tomorrow but that pic doesn't look like my bracket or trim unit.

Let me clarify. Move this bolt here

BUT BE SURE TO CHECK SOMETHING !!!

I'm not sure what trim unit you have. The merc pushes a plate that pushes the motor. If the motor comes up it comes off the plate. Your trim unit may be a screw type that is pinned at both ends, what I mean is it may need to be able to slide up that groove if your motor kicks up. If that's the case don't move that bolt. With your motor trimmed down, can you lift it up at the prop without that bolt sliding? A friend had a similar problem he removed a spacer at the bottom of the slide.

Also, the top of the lift unit had three holes for adjustment. Make sure it's in the right one. Bottom hole will limit your down trim. Top hole you may not be able to trim up to the sweet spot, depending on your load.

That looks like the tompsen not the merc. The 4 bolts that hold the roller can be moved should have 2 diff mounting points.
