Added Pro-Drive EFI & heads worked by Pro-Drive to a 35 GTR. Heads were decked .040, port work, and valve job. Motor has a stock exhaust.

Before
- 3800-3850 RPMS
- Top speed of 26.2 MPH

After
- 4300-4350 RPMS
- Top speed of 30.5 MPH
- Compression is right at 152-153 psi on both cylinders

Saw a steady gain of 4 mph, while maintaining a quiet exhaust. Boat is big and heavy for an 18x48. I was surprised to see 30 mph.

what was the before compression?

how many hours and year of engine?

any porting/polishing done to intake manifold or plenum?

stop talking about EFI - until I get motor!

so you didn't have to do any polishing or "cleaning up" inside intake manifold - and the ports lined up with head ports - spot on?

Post subject:  Re: 35 GTR w/ Pro-Drive EFI & Pro-Drive heads

Correct, didn't have to touch them.

Have they wrote a tune for a motor with an exhaust? Is the sensor the only addition to the stock muffler? Nice setup

if your fuel cell is mounted forward in the boat do you need a "pusher" fuel pump by the tank?

If your cranking compression is 150ish and your heads have .040 of decking removed, you have a problem.

Cranking compression on stock heads is 150ish.

Heads decked .040 should be 170-180.

My compression with iron mountain heads was 150 on my old PD. I will do a compression check on my current stock Pro-Drive with 3 hours on it for a cross reference tomorrow.

I want to say Blue said his stock PD was 130 and 135 PSI, after decking .050 and some deshrouding he is at 160.

Pretty sure these are deshrouded as to why the higher numbers.

Now on my dual rig with cam and heads I'm seeing 175/180 on one motor and 155/150 on the other. Wonder why the different. I think they were decked. 035-.040

Just put a motor together with the heads decked .045 a little while ago. Compression 160 and 160. PVT cam and stock size Manley valves. 2 weeks ago i had some other heads decked .045 that went on a stock bottom end and the comp was like 160 and 150-something. My shits .055 with a PVT cam and 182 on both. I believe stock range between 135-145 depending on what kinda shape the motor is in.
