 Grass Screen I had a noise coming from the grass screen. Took it apart and one of the studs was broken. I saw on here that some people said you need to keep the center ring and three bolts in. Can you just leave all of it off? The fan shroud has bolts holding it on already. I don't see how leaving the three bolts and rings in will help support the shroud.

Re: Grass Screen Just cut those studs about a half inch long and reinstall that plate with those shorter bolts. Then tye wrap the screen to the grille.
You don't need Guidry's law degree to figure that out. Should be the first mod done to your engine.

Re: Grass Screen I replaced the bolts with regular hex heads, used fender washers and locks along with locktite. I just snugged them down over the ring. Ran it this morning and it's all good now, also gets rid of some noise that thing used to make.
I just took the screen off completely.
Because i used regular bolts i had to align the ring, wasn't a big deal, it's easy to eyeball it.
