What can I do with a stock 35 mudbuddy to get more power
I've been looking at doing something for a while with a stock 35 mudbuddy surface drive and was wondering what can I do to it to make it push a little better without doing a complete build. Example like exhaust, carb or what is the best for the money? I'm kinda new to this type of setup so just looking for some thoughts. The motor is a 2005 or 2006 mudbuddy with about 135hrs on the motor. Thanks in advance Also if u can give a rough price figure or where to look for any of the info or parts that would great also

Drop a couple teeth on top sprocket. Makes a big difference for little money.

Re: What can I do with a stock 35 mudbuddy to get more power
I ran the boat this past weekend it is a 1654 gator Trax my self and my 95 lbs lab and 6 gallons fuel one battery was running 24-25 mpg on gps I would like to see that during duck season with 2-3 guys and dog and gear but I'm not sure what it would take to do that. Is that a good speed with a stock motor or should it possibly be more. The rpms was about 3950 when wide open is that to much or is that safe? Like I said new to the mud motors I've seen different links about rpm zones but I'm just checking again Thanks

Re: What can I do with a stock 35 mudbuddy to get more power
That's pretty good for stock motor, wouldn't want to run it much over 4000 for very long with. If your going to push a heavy load and motor has a clutch, you can change out the prop shaft gear to a 50 or 52 tooth pully, This will allow motor to reach a higher rpm with load. You maybe able to turn a Big Blade Prop if you aren't already. Speeds won't be much higher.
