Have a stage 2 gator tail. Engine bogs when juice on throttle from idle. Engine idles fine any ideas on what causes this?

Probably the acc pump, or other carb issue, normally on a car ,id say timing, but no real adjustment there lol

I adjusted the acc pump both ways and still the same thing. I am running a 162.5 main jet. Would that have any effect on this?

Did you visually check the accelerator pump nozzle to see if its squirting down the carbs throat? Did you remove the carb bowl and check the float and jets?

Yes I seen the accelerator pump squirting fuel in the carb. I have not taken the carb apart yet to visually inspect it.

Too much air and not enough gas is what's causing it. Make sure the pump is hitting the second you touch it but in reality the acc pump just helps, the rest needs to be tuned right first. Gotta get in there and see what's inside.

As far as tuned just right where do I start inside the carb?

And is the set screw for the pump suppose to be touching at idle?

Hold the phone!! This happened to me and it is a very simple...there is a screw that is supposed to keep the choke set at a certain level...after time, the vibration of the motor can allow that screw to rotate and then your engine will be down to a low idle but when you give it throttle, it bogs/chokes itself out. Pull out your choke slightly and adjust that little screw down toward the motor so that the choke stays out slightly, then give it throttle and see what happens. That is what has happened to mine, and more than once.

Yes, stock carb and linkage...if you can pull the choke out slightly and motor runs better, then check that nut around ckoke...going to my camp this weekend to get my rig...i'll take dome pics!
