Need help-- Not sure if my motor is a CDI
I bought a 2009 gatortail motor from a friend of mine and just finished redoing everything. While redoing the motor i discovered that the front plate displayed Marine underneath the 35 Vanguard sticker. I am confused about it being a standard motor or CDI, here is why. The fuel pump is underneath the Carb, it does not have a oil pressure sensor, and it has a regular sized alternator. I just need help to see if one do i need a rev limiter or is it truly a CDI. My friend does not know, he bought the motor a while back and forgot. Anything helps

the marine motor has a vacuum pump not a cam driven pump! if ur pump is under the carb then it is cam driven

A quick check- Remove the cover with your key switch on it and look down inside the cowling at the #2 coil. See if it has a diode on the ground wire to the coil, a CDI coil will only have a spade connector and no diode.
