On the new GT lower unit how do you adjust for Tiller Torque. The older unit had the adjustment tab but the new one is cast. I called GT and they said my only option was to move weight around. When I am by myself it is very bad. Motor is dead center like they told me to do. It is on a custom flat 1854 with no ribs. Fuel tank and batteries are in the front. The load goes as far to the port side (left) as I can get it. They are lined up batt, fuel tank and then batt then some left over space. The Batteries are class 31 so they are nice and heavy. My thought was to get everything over to the Port side to counter my weight on the starboard. Any ideas would be appreciated. |

I moved mine on the transom slightly off center - but shifting weight in boat with hunt load also makes huge diffrence, with my boat 18'60" gear in the middle people up front works best. If you mount off center be sure to test with load in the boat. I set it with no load and it is smooth as hell, with load it can be a bear to handle until you start shifting weight. my .02 |

what they really need is a tiller tension control bolt/mechanism - like most outboards. |

In my boat I need more weight to the starboard side to get it to track the best. If it is heavy on the port side then it wants to go to port like crazy. Overloaded to the starboard and I can relax and let it run. Mine is super sensitive to weight distribution in all directions |

I'm gonna move one of the class 31 batteries over to the right and see if that helps! |

Just fashion and attach a small tab to the skeg. Out of wood first so you can test various degrees of deflection. |
