Ive searched til my eyes went cross and i still cant find what im looking for. Anybody do a dyno run on a motor with carb, heads, and exhaust to see what the effective range of a stock cam is? Im guessing it drops off around 4000 pretty hard but i was hoping someone had some real numbers

No hard figures I guess... My guess would be 2500-4000 but it'll have already peaked Hp and torque WAY before 4k :?

If I remember correctly, Al said a stock cam quits making power at 3500-3600 rpm.

Remember what these motors are intended for. I'm sure on a mower, 3600 is max rpm.

i have the 4750 coils in my motor with boat dr heads,a mikuni, and a Q. Id like a cam to pull hard up to 46-4700 rpm. Ive been looking around at different grinds and most of the radical grinds ive seen ended up in multiple pieces. So far im leaning towards hoyts cam but if anybody has a better one im all ears.
