Post subject:  Mikuni carb

I have a mikuni carb on my gatortail with a Mac exhaust it runs fine and idles great but when it gets In a bind and trying to put it on the trailer it just bogs down and won't move any ideas on what to do? Thanks

Might need to adjust AF screw or the jets may need tweaking. Try adjusting the AF screw one turn either direction and see if it gets better or worse.

A mikuni on stock heads is alot of carb, expecially if valves are leaking. Maybe motor is bogging from too big carb for the setup.

When this happens do you have fuel coming out your overflow line? What size jets are you running?

It's all stock and I haven't checked the overflow line when it happens

As the others said, check for flooding and check valve lash, air filter , fuel filter etc.If motor runs fine other then when in a bind i bet the valves are not sealing well due to the heads now being seasoned. Best to do leakdown test to verify. Might be time to get heads done. Or maybe its something else real easy to fix that im not thinkin of.
