Post subject: | Trim and Tilt Problems!! HELP |
My 2014 mud buddy is having some trim and tilt issues. When i go to trim up or down it's almost like it stutters at first. Once it gets moving it moves just fine. It's just that actually getting it moving takes longer and makes more noise than it should. Anybody ever experienced this before? Do anyone have schematics on draining and filling the hydraulic trim/tilt? pictures and links are welcome. Thanks!! |

What type of noise is more noise that it usually makes? Did you already check fluid level and connection tightness? Electric motors on hydraulic pumps can start making a bunch of noise before they go out. Being that yours is a 14', i hope thats not the case. |

Trim motor is trying to lock up. Magnets in pump motor probably causing noise. They come un glued inside motor housing, $123 at Amazon .com Merc. #809885A. Get anew rocker switch there also. See my other trim motor post. |

What is the correct way to fill it with fluid? After draining it and flushing it multiple times like I was told at marina, if I fill it when it is down or compacted it acts just like it did before, if I fill it when it is up or extended it works almost normal. Normal except it pulsates twice on the way down. Denny, I have already ordered one that Smoke told me to, I assume he got the info from you. Thought it would be here yesterday and it wasn't . Either way I still need to know how to fill it correctly. Thank you |

You fill it then put it in a vise, get a battery and run the actuator up and down a dozen times. The trim will self bleed the air out. |
